It's not all it's cracked up to be. Sure, you were warned about post-partum depression. You expected sleep-deprivation and the terrible twos. But did you expect your marriage to change so much? Or your view of yourself?
What do you do when reality falls short of the fantasy and you're left feeling disappointed, frustrated or even angry?
It helps to know you're not alone, but even close friends and family members often don't feel comfortable talking openly and honestly about their own experiences of family life.
Marriage After Motherhood, a new book by mother, spouse, writer and clinical psychologist Dr. Andria Glasser Das will tell you what your friends and family won't. It explores the origin and perpetuation of our expectations, the less-than-perfect reality of life with children and offers new ways to view your own situation in a positive light.
For this book, Dr. Glasser Das is currently collecting information and stories from people who were married or in a long-term, committed relationship at the time their first child arrived. Despite the book's title, fathers are encouraged to participate.
